About the Game

Morticians is an original tabletop role-playing game set in the Zombie-infested land of Sanctuary Valley, a superstitious land with danger around every corner. Seven years after the Bac-Z outbreak, humanity struggles to reclaim what was lost. Hope springs from the Morticians, a pseudo-militaristic organization determined to lay the undead to their final rest.

Zombies!

In 2012, the Bac-Z plague swept the globe, devastating humanity in just two months. As governments fell and cities crumbled, chaos and violence took over. From the remnants of civilization, a new threat emerged—zombies. Now, the undead roam the world, hunting down the last survivors.

Hope for the Living

Hope emerged in the form of the Morticians—a diverse group of survivors determined to reclaim the world for the living. Trained at the Morgue, their stronghold, these adventurers venture into Sanctuary Valley to cleanse the land of the undead and restore order. Known as Undertakings, their missions involve exploring, rediscovering, and connecting with survivors to rebuild civilization. Feared by some, respected by others, the Morticians have become a symbol of power and hope in a shattered world.

Sanctuary Valley

Sanctuary Valley is home not only to the Morticians who protect the lands but also, the Farmers’ Federation, which grows the food, and the Union, which transports supplies to the growing communities throughout the valley. Nomads, scavengers, and other survivors trying to carve out a life in the new reality also call Sanctuary Valley their home.

How to recognize a Mortician

  • Smock shields against gore and easy to clean.

  • Oversized collar for neck protection.

  • Good luck symbols to inspire and personalize gear.

  • Arm and leg armor, often salvaged and mismatched but always functional.

  • Look of fierce determination and an unquenchable drive to put the undead to rest.

  • Dead give away is always the big-ass cleaver.
